In late July, New York-based Crowdcentric and Crowdfunder, partnered with American Express OPEN Forum and Nokia@Work to gather together the leading experts and thinkers around crowdfunding to discuss the latest rulings and share visions for the future of the industry.
In its fourth iteration, CROWDFUNDx brought together crowdfunding pioneers like Chance Barnett, Sherwood Neiss, and Jessica Jackley who shared their views on the impact of crowdfunding on business and society.
We heard advice on pitching your ideas to the educational needs that crowdfunding has ahead of it. There were many takeaways, all of which will be applicable for anyone involved in business or startups.
The conference concluded with the CROWDFUNDx NYC pitch event, which was the culmination of a two-month online submission period on Crowdfunder.com with more than 100 small businesses, startups and social enterprises vying for a $25k cash prize.
The grand prize winner on the night, THINX, wowed our panel of judges and was selected among 14 finalists. In addition to the cash prize, THINK, along with the two other category winners, were also given the greenlight to begin an investment campaign with Crowdfunder.

Looking ahead there are a number of future CROWDFUNDx events and initiatives in the works, including CROWDFUNDxLA, which is scheduled to take place during Social Media Week, the launch of an education program and continued expansion to more US cities.
